You may feel a little nervous cooking in a solar cooker for the first time. Here are a few recipes to build your confidence. Yes, food actually cooks! And if it doesn't, you can probably finish cooking the dish in the kitchen, camping store, etc. (It's not a big deal. It's a learning process.)
For consistency these recipes were all cooked in a Cookit solar cooker with a 6"x3" (15x8cm) cake pan and glass plate. If you are using a different cooker, you can adapt the recipe for your needs by adding/subtracting more time or rotating the cooker for more or less sunlight. All cook times are approximate. The time does not include prep time.
